The greatest number of boating accidents occurred on the Ocoee River (22 accidents). Twenty people died in the state of Tennessee in 2008 as a result of boating accidents. That number was up 17 from the previous year. The number of injury accidents in 2008 was 89 resulting in 116 injuries.
