Knoxville Man’s Drug Sentence Commuted by President Obama

Thanks to President Obama’s recent push for prison reform, a Knoxville man was one of 46 federal prisoners who saw their sentences commuted. In a video released by the White House, the President advocated for alternative sentences for nonviolent, drug-related charges, saying that the “punishments didn’t fit the crime.” The man will now be released 8 months early.
